Sobre mi..

I was born in Los Angeles, California. However, I grew up in a small border town enjoying Arizona and Sonora, Mexico. I feel very fortunate to have grown up bilingual and bicultural. I have three daughters and a very close family.

¡Hola! My name is Mónica Cortez and I am very excited to be working with Manzanita Elementary students! I am looking forward to assisting students in reaching their language goals.

Educación

I graduated from Douglas High School and the University of Arizona.. Go Wildcats :)

I studied Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology and and endorsement in Bilingual Education. I love teaching language, finding it very graifying to see the growth that is made by each class and individual.

Me gusta

I enjoy many things in life. For example, I love to read! I like to read English and Spanish books. Some books I read for entertainment and some for information, but always for enjoyment. I enjoy spending time in nature, finding it very calming. Most of all, I enjoy spending time with special people in my life like friends and family.
